Hindenburg Research, a US-based short-seller group that gained attention in India in 2023 for accusing the Adani Group of stock manipulation and accounting fraud, announced that it is shutting down on January 16.
In a statement, the group’s founder, Nate Anderson, explained that their plan was always to wind down once they finished their current investigations. He said, “We’re wrapping up after completing our work on the cases we’ve been handling, and today marks that moment.”
Anderson also highlighted the impact of their efforts, stating that nearly 100 people, including billionaires and powerful figures, had faced civil or criminal charges thanks to their work. He added, “We’ve shaken up some empires that needed to be challenged.”
This marks the end of Hindenburg Research’s operations, after years of scrutinizing and exposing corporate wrongdoings.
