Andhra Pradesh Metro Projects Approved: A New Era for Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada Transport

The Andhra Pradesh Metro government has approved metro rail projects for Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.

VISAKHAPATNAM METRO DETAILS

Visakhapatnam’s Phase-I will have three corridors.

It spans 46.23 km with 42 stations.

The cost is Rs 11,498 crore.

Phase-II adds a fourth corridor, extending to 76.90 km.

This phase will cost Rs 14,309 crore.

The project uses a Public-Private Partnership model.

VIJAYAWADA METRO DETAILS

Vijayawada’s Phase-I includes two corridors.

It covers 38.40 km with 34 stations.

The cost is Rs 11,009 crore.

Phase-II will add a third corridor to Amaravati.

Rs 1,152 crore is set for land acquisition.

These projects aim to transform transportation in the region. They will improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion. The Detailed Project Report is ready for further approvals.
